What’s the historical significance of the Talbot Town Hall?

The Town Hall building was originally constructed as an Oddfellows Hall in the early 1860s. It was purchased by the Amherst Municipal Council in 1865.

In 1871, the Council added the second storey to the façade to accommodate a meeting room as well as a library.
