Food Systems Roadmap

We know food is essential to our community - it impacts on our health, businesses, culture, and the environment.

Earlier this year, we spoke with over 230 community members and stakeholders to understand what is most important to you about food, and what could be changed to make access to healthy and nutritious food easier for everyone.

Based on your feedback, we have been working with Sustain: The Australian Food Network to develop a Draft Food Systems Roadmap.

The Draft Roadmap explores your vision for a healthier food system in Central Goldfields, and how we can work together to make it happen.

It will help guide future projects to support healthy eating and be a useful tool to help Council and other organisations find more funding and resources.

We're inviting feedback on the Draft Food Systems Roadmap to make sure we've accurately captured your thoughts.

You can read the Draft Roadmap and provide feedback by completing the survey below, until 3pm, Friday 23 August.

What is a food system?

The circular journey our food takes - from paddock to plate, and back again - connects people from all walks of life, across industries, ages, and communities.

The people and processes involved in feeding our communities are known collectively as the food system. The success of the local food system has a direct impact on our health and wellbeing, the growth of our children, the environment, and the local economy.
