Flood Management Advisory Reference Group - Carisbrook

We are inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from community members to join the Flood Management Advisory Reference Group and the Tender Panel for the upcoming Flood Management Plan for Carisbrook.




Open from 20 January 2025 until 07 February 2025.

This is an important opportunity for local residents to actively participate in the development of a comprehensive flood management strategy that will shape the future safety and resilience of Carisbrook community.

The project will involve modelling and analysis to define existing flood behaviour in the study area and the identification and evaluation of measures to mitigate and manage flood risk in the study area - including recommendations for flood planning overlays, reviewing the performance of existing works, investigating potential mitigation works, updating the flood warning systems and emergency management plans. We are seeking a total of three community members to join the Flood Management Advisory Reference Group.

Advisory Group Membership – 2 Community Members

The Advisory Reference Group will assist in advising the council on key flood management issues, strategies, and priorities for the town. We are looking for individuals with knowledge or an interest in the following areas:

  • Flood risk management and mitigation
  • Urban planning and infrastructure
  • Environmental science and climate change
  • Civil engineering or water management
  • Emergency management and disaster preparedness
  • Community engagement and communication

Community Representative for Tender Panel/ Advisory Group Membership – 1 Community Member

We are seeking one community representative to serve on a Tender Panel as well as the Advisory Reference Group. The Tender Panel will evaluate bids and proposals from consultants for the review of the Flood Management Plan. The role of the community representative will be crucial in ensuring that the chosen contractor aligns with the values and needs of the local community in Carisbrook. Ideal candidates should have an interest in fair procurement processes and a commitment to ensuring the Carisbrook’s best interests are prioritised.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for either the Advisory Reference Group or Tender Panel position, applicants must:

  • Be a resident of Carisbrook
  • Have a genuine interest in flood management, community safety, and the resilience of the town
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate and contribute to decision-making processes
