Hear from Mayor Cr Chris Meddows Taylor

What is a Council Plan?

All councils across Victoria are required to develop a Council Plan which is developed every four years following the election of a new term of Councillors. The document sets out our strategic direction by outlining priorities and actions for the coming four years.

This plan will assist Council in having the greatest impact in addressing our community's needs while remaining financially sustainable and continuing to deliver critical services.

These priorities must be in line with the Community Vision, which outlines our community's goals for the future and how our Shire should grow and develop. Community feedback is essential to the development of our Council Plan.

What is involved in the Plan?

The Council Plan sets out our:

  • Strategic objectives
  • Strategies
  • Indicators
  • Initiatives

Within our Council Plan, we have what's called a Strategic Resource Plan which includes:

  • Long-Term Financial Plan
  • Non-Financial Resource

Our Long-Term Financial Plan consists our 2021/22 Budget while the Non-Financial Resource includes our Council Plans and Strategies.
