What is being proposed
Council owns and/or manages many assets, including land and buildings, public open space and plant and equipment within Central Goldfields Shire.
Among these are a number of Council freehold land parcels that have the potential to be divested in the future.
Our Disposal or Sale of Council Assets and Land Policy was written in accordance with the Local Government Act 1989. Following the updated Local Government Act 2020, the Policy has been updated.
The Draft Policy fully explains Council’s position on the approach to the disposal or sale of Council Assets and Land to the Community and now aligns with Council’s Community Engagement Policy.
Council is required to review this policy every four years.
